Postcards from large, multinational, luxury hotels, clearly collected but un-sent. There is an inherent pathos to an unsent card; a communication unmade, a stillborn message; but yet the cards were kept. What reason behind a collection of unsent postcards of the sort to be found free for guests to use in hotel bedroom desk drawers? Perhaps the memories they evoke are precious?
This is a very informal book, the cards printed in black and white on coarse-grained sugar paper and just stapled into the covers. The memories evoked by each card is typed across its back, the narrative of a life.
